Five French Tourists Rescued Off Anaga After Ignoring Warning Buoys
Five French tourists were rescued by a medical helicopter off Anaga on Saturday after being swept out to sea by a wave, resulting in one woman being hospitalized for serious injuries.
On Saturday, November 8, a medical helicopter from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) rescued five French tourists who were in trouble in the sea off Anaga.
Sources say the tourists were swept away by a wave after they reportedly ignored a system of buoys set up to warn people.
The incident happened at 11:30 AM, and emergency teams, including several ambulances, were sent to the area. They were specifically near Almáciga beach, by the Roque de Las Bodegas pier.
The five people rescued were three women and two men, all with various injuries. One woman, who was more seriously hurt, was taken to hospital by the medical helicopter.
The 1-1-2 emergency control room confirmed that none of the victims were in life-threatening danger.
