Firefighters Contain Wildfire Near Homes in Tenerife’s Valle de Tabares
Emergency crews have successfully contained a wildfire in Tenerife’s Valle de Tabares that forced the precautionary evacuation of nearby homes amid high-risk weather conditions.
The vulnerability of the Canary Islands' wildland-urban areas was highlighted again this Thursday following a fire in the Valle de Tabares, located in the Tenerife municipality of La Laguna. Emergency crews worked quickly to contain the fire, which was intensified by the day’s weather conditions. The Local Police led the initial response, quickly bringing in the Tenerife Fire Consortium and two aerial units from the island’s government. This rapid intervention successfully stabilized the situation, and the fire is now considered under control.
