Filmoteca Canaria Hosts Regional Premiere of David M. Mateo’s 'La restauración'
The Filmoteca Canaria is hosting free regional premieres of David M. Mateo’s new film, La restauración, across Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and Tenerife as part of its "Time of Memory, Memory of Time" series.
The Filmoteca Canaria is hosting the regional premiere of La restauración, the latest film by director David M. Mateo, as part of its "Time of Memory, Memory of Time" series. This initiative aims to make thought-provoking, contemporary cinema more accessible to the public.
Produced this year, the film follows Marcia, a Madrid art gallery worker whose life is upended when her partner suddenly and inexplicably disappears. The story serves as an introspective look at identity and the past, taking viewers on a journey through both the city and the protagonist's inner world.
To make the film accessible across the islands, the Filmoteca Canaria has scheduled three free screenings:
- Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.: Teatro Guiniguada, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
- Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.: Auditorio Insular de Fuerteventura
- Thursday at 7:00 p.m.: Espacio La Granja, Santa Cruz de Tenerife
While admission is free, tickets are required due to limited capacity. For the screenings in Gran Canaria and Tenerife, please secure your passes through the official online platforms or at the venue box offices. This series reflects the Filmoteca Canaria’s ongoing commitment to bringing independent cinema and stories about memory to a wider audience.
