The Filmoteca Canaria continues its Japanese cinema series with free screenings of the anime blockbuster Demon Slayer: Mugen Train in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The Filmoteca Canaria is launching a new chapter in its Japanese cinema series. After previously focusing on coming-of-age stories and youthful introspection, the organization is now shifting its attention to the fantasy and action genres.

The series continues with Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, the 2020 film directed by Haruo Sotozaki that has become a modern landmark in anime. Beyond its massive commercial success, the film is credited with drawing audiences of all ages to theaters and revitalizing interest in Japanese animation across European cultural centers.

Screenings will be held across the islands over two days: this Tuesday at the Teatro Guiniguada in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and this Thursday at Espacio La Granja in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Both sessions begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be shown in their original language with Spanish subtitles.

Admission is free, but attendees must reserve tickets in advance to help manage capacity. Tickets can be booked through the venues' websites or collected at their box offices.
