Femete and Archipiélago Logística have partnered to provide 1,400 Canary Islands businesses with specialized logistics and customs support to overcome the operational challenges of geographical remoteness.

Being based on an island remains the biggest challenge for businesses in the Canary Islands. To help manage the extra costs caused by this remoteness, the Provincial Federation of Metal and New Technology Companies of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Femete) has partnered with Archipiélago Logística (ALS) to improve supply chain efficiency.

The agreement, signed by Femete’s Juan Antonio Jiménez Arranz and ALS’s Francisco Javier Santana Fraga, aims to support 1,400 companies and their 13,000 employees. The one-year, renewable deal provides these businesses with access to a range of logistics services, including freight shipping, container transport, and urgent air delivery.

Beyond basic shipping, the partnership focuses on technical expertise. By offering specialized consulting and customs advice, the collaboration helps metallurgical and technology firms navigate the complexities of foreign trade. In an environment where customs management and shipping times are critical to success, this initiative aims to remove the barriers that have historically held back local businesses.

For Femete, this partnership is about providing practical solutions to its members. By making logistics a core part of their growth strategy, the federation hopes to help local companies lower their operating costs and expand into international markets, using ALS’s expertise to overcome the geographical and administrative hurdles of doing business in the islands.
