Fasnia Launches €14 Million Urban Transformation and Infrastructure Revitalization Plan

Fasnia is currently undergoing a major urban transformation, with over 14 million euros in public funding being invested across the municipality. This extensive roadmap aims to modernize infrastructure and restore historical heritage, stretching from the town center to the coast and the higher-altitude areas.

The strategy focuses on two main goals: cultural revitalization and improved mobility. In the town center, key projects include converting the old cinema into an auditorium (over 2 million euros) and pedestrianizing the Plaza de la Constitución and surrounding streets (over 1 million euros). Connectivity is also being improved between the CEO Guajara school and the sports complex, while the local soccer field is set for upgrades to its turf, lighting, and irrigation.

Heritage and leisure are also priorities. A new museum dedicated to aboriginal history is planned for a protected building on Calle San Joaquín, and various playgrounds and fitness areas are receiving upgrades.

Development is also moving toward the coast. The largest project is the new Farmers' Market in Los Roques, with a budget of nearly 4.5 million euros. Other coastal improvements include the renovation of the Las Eras promenade and a 2.5-million-euro plan to upgrade pavements and utility networks in the old coastal center.

The municipality is also investing in its higher-altitude areas to ensure territorial balance. Projects include a new youth hostel in La Zarza, improvements to the local square in La Sombrera, and a 400,000-euro plan to repave roads and upgrade water networks in areas such as La Corujera, Lomo Grande, La Vista, and La Sabina Alta.

This investment, funded through a mix of local resources and grants, reflects the ongoing effort to make Fasnia more sustainable and accessible while balancing the preservation of its history with the need for modern services.
