Venezuelan artist Nela Ochoa's exhibition "EXpecies y ENdémicas," exploring genetics and endangered Canarian species through mixed media, opens this Friday at Espacio Bronzo in La Laguna.

Espacio Bronzo gallery is opening a new exhibition called "EXpecies y ENdémicas" this Friday at 8:00 p.m., showcasing the art of Nela Ochoa. You can see it until November 22 at the gallery, located at Calle Núñez de la Peña, 19, in La Laguna.

Ochoa, a Venezuelan artist who has lived in the Canary Islands since 2017, explores her fascination with genetics through the lens of endangered local species.

Her artwork at Espacio Bronzo stands out because of the materials and styles she uses. She's created 3D pieces with things like beads, baseball bats, and fabrics. She also has a collection of printed images, made by digitally editing photographs.

Ochoa uses different colors to represent the four building blocks of DNA and combines them to reflect the genetic code of each species.
