Ex-Tenerife Youth Player Siverio Returns for "Special Duel" with Moscardó
Marco Siverio, Moscardó's top scorer, returns to his hometown club Tenerife B for a "special duel" this Sunday, aiming to secure a positive result for his relegation-threatened team.
Marco Siverio, a forward from Tenerife born on October 4, 1994, is facing a special match this Sunday. His current team, Moscardó, based in Madrid and playing in Segunda RFEF, will visit the Ciudad Deportiva Javier Pérez to play against Tenerife B at 12:00 PM. Siverio, who hails from El Rosario, is his team's top scorer with four goals, a regular starter, and a key player for coach Javi Poves.
Siverio, who has a history with the club having played in their academy from under-11 to under-16 levels, joined Moscardó this summer from Unión Sur Yaiza. His career has taken him far, including five seasons in Austrian football with clubs like Stadl Paura, Horn, Juniors, and Amstetten, a brief six-month spell in Poland with Podbeskidzie, and a return to the Canary Islands before moving to the Madrid team. This unique journey, which includes past games against Tenerife B, makes this Sunday's match particularly significant for him.
He described the upcoming game as a "special duel" that "means a lot," feeling like a homecoming. He'll be playing against a strong team, even though Tenerife B has struggled recently, losing four of their last five games. Despite this, they remain in playoff positions. Siverio expects a "very complicated match," noting that the Tenerife B reserve team can be unpredictable and "tough to play against" depending on their performance that day. He is confident that his Moscardó team, currently in the relegation zone, will be well-prepared and aims to "get something very positive from the trip."
This isn't Siverio's first time playing at the Ciudad Deportiva Javier Pérez. Last season, while playing for Yaiza, he scored a goal in the second minute against the same opponent in a match that ended 2-2. Interestingly, the other goal for Yaiza that day was scored by Fabricio Assis, who is now part of Tenerife's first team. Assis described Siverio as a player who is "very fast, very technical, has a good shot, and is very complete," adding that with confidence and the right support, he can "be a protagonist without any problem."
Siverio has adapted well to life in Madrid. With four goals in ten appearances, he has become the main attacking threat for Javi Poves' team. "They have given me a lot of confidence, and it's showing. I'm really enjoying the club and the city," he said. He wears the number 10 shirt, though he initially wanted number 9, which is worn by veteran Dani Segovia, a respected figure at Moscardó. Siverio accepted the situation readily, saying, "I'll take the 10, and that's that."
Regarding the team's ambitions, Siverio believes Moscardó has built a project this season that is "much more ambitious" than their current league position suggests. Personally, he prefers not to set specific goal targets, stating, "When you say 15 goals, you're setting a ceiling for yourself." However, he did hint that he hopes to score more than ten goals this season.
Convinced that history could repeat itself this Sunday, Siverio admitted he has "visualized it a lot" – scoring a goal at the Ciudad Deportiva Javier Pérez.
