Enrique Cruz and Yeray Mujica have officially been proclaimed champions of the Canary Islands Asphalt Rally Championship 2025 after the dismissal of a complaint regarding the results of the Rally Ciudad de la Laguna.

Enrique Cruz and Yeray Mujica are the 2025 Canary Islands Asphalt Rally Champions! The Canary Islands Automobile Federation has reviewed and rejected the complaint regarding the results of the Rally Ciudad de la Laguna. This means that the victory of the Tenerife driver and his co-driver in this stage is officially confirmed.

This decision removes all questions and allows them to celebrate the victory. Cruz and Mujica were so far ahead that their title was almost guaranteed back in July. Even if the appeal had been upheld and they had been given a time penalty in La Laguna, they would still have won in Teror. This is the ninth title for the driver, who has become a legend.

The Disa Copi Sport team won the championship thanks to consistent driving, victories, and the ability to manage the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2. They completed each stage perfectly, giving their rivals no chance. The gap between them and Fernando Cruz (51 points), Sergio Fuentes (63), and Yeray Lemes (80) was huge, considering there were only two rallies left.

Admittedly, the decision on the complaint was delayed, and the Copi Sport team had already moved to Gran Canaria to participate in the Villa de Teror Rally. But since the title was already in the bag, the team decided not to participate in this stage.

"After confirming the victory in the championship, the team decided not to take risks and not participate in Villa de Teror to ensure the safety of our drivers," the team said in a statement.

After five seasons on the Ford Fiesta Rally2, the driver from La Laguna and his team decided to try the Toyota. "This is a car made for winning," said the driver before the first stage in Lanzarote. They wanted to win the regional title, which they had been denied for three years, and they succeeded. Already in the first stage, they showed what they were capable of, finishing second in Lanzarote, only three seconds behind Yeray Lemes.

Then there was the Rally Norte, where they earned 26 points and increased their lead over their rivals, taking advantage of the failures of Lemes and Lukyanuk.

Next were four rallies – Villa de Adeje, Senderos, Telde, and La Laguna – and four victories that brought them another title and cemented their place among the legends of motorsport on the islands.
