E-distribución has launched a comprehensive contingency plan, including the installation of a backup generator and specialized standby crews, to ensure a reliable power supply during the upcoming Virgin of Candelaria festivities.

Ensuring a reliable power supply has become a top priority for event organizers, especially for large public gatherings. To prepare for the upcoming Virgin of Candelaria festivities on August 14th and 15th, e-distribución—a subsidiary of Endesa—has launched a specialized plan to secure the electrical network in Candelaria.

The company is focusing on maintaining service continuity at the transformer centers surrounding the Basilica, the heart of the celebrations. As a backup measure, a 700 KVA generator has been installed to prevent any potential outages. This follows extensive simulations on the medium-voltage network, which were conducted to ensure the infrastructure can handle the high demand expected during the event.

Beyond technical upgrades, the company has implemented a comprehensive safety protocol. Specialized crews will be on standby and ready to respond immediately if needed. Additionally, the team is closely monitoring weather conditions to prepare for external risks such as storms, extreme heat, or wildfires—factors that have historically impacted the region's power grid during the summer.

This contingency plan is designed to do more than just fix potential breakdowns; it serves as a proactive risk management tool for areas with high foot traffic. By combining daily weather tracking with reinforced infrastructure, the company aims to minimize the impact of any technical issues during one of the region's busiest events.
