Encuentros en el M/A/L Festival Brings Josele del Pino to Buenavista del Norte
The eighth edition of the Encuentros en el M/A/L festival continues this Saturday in Buenavista del Norte with a performance by renowned timple musician Josele del Pino.
The eighth edition of the Encuentros en el M/A/L festival is once again bringing culture to more corners of the Canary Islands. The festival aims to showcase artistic work outside of mainstream commercial circuits, focusing on the blend of traditional folk music and modern sound design.
This commitment to moving cultural events beyond major urban centers continues this Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at the Isla Baja Regional Occupational Center in Buenavista del Norte. The event is free to attend, though space is limited. The session will feature a performance by Josele del Pino, a leading figure in contemporary timple music.
Born in Puerto de la Cruz in 1980, Del Pino has played a key role in the evolution of the timple over the last few decades. Since 2007, he has been a member of the renowned group Los SabandeƱos, where he performs as a timple player, counter-tenor, and baritone. He is also a member of the Canary Islands Timple Orchestra and leads his own creative projects, such as Endechas.
By featuring artists like Del Pino, the festival highlights performers who honor the Canary Islands' musical heritage while exploring new, contemporary styles. These events not only boost local culture but also celebrate a living tradition that remains vibrant and distinct from passing trends.
