Emerpop Canarias Announces First Participants: 12 Bands from the Canaries
Emerpop Canarias has announced the first 12 participants from the Canary Islands who will compete for a spot in the renowned festival.
Emerpop Canarias has announced the names of the first participants! After a thorough selection process involving over 40 bands from the Canary Islands, the jury has chosen 12 talented performers. They will become part of this musical project that supports young talents in Canarian pop music.
This project will give local bands the opportunity to perform on the same stage as famous artists. This will help them promote themselves and establish a foothold in the music industry. By combining local talent and popular performers, the audience will be able to enjoy a unique and diverse show.
From the province of Las Palmas, Cris Giannattasio, Kimera, Northway Drive, Supawayah!, Valle Narval, and La Sofie Band have been selected. These bands represent different styles and voices of the island's music scene. From the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Amakó, PokzipolPoops (PKZP), Ridercosta, Sex Sodio Sullivan, Sínora, and Postcode will perform.
Emerpop Canarias, organized by Moon World, will take place from October 24, 2025, to May 16, 2026, in Tenerife and Gran Canaria. The organizers hope that it will become an important event for young people and music industry professionals on the islands.
The artists will be selected by a mixed jury consisting of industry professionals and viewers. Their votes will have equal weight – 50% in the final score. This will ensure objectivity and take into account the opinions of both experts and the public.
At the end of the project, two winning bands will be selected – one from each province. They will have the opportunity to perform at one of the most famous Ukrainian festivals held in the Canary Islands, alongside stars of the Ukrainian and world pop scene.
The announcement of the twelve selected bands gives a new impetus to Emerpop Canarias, which aims to become a platform for the development of musical talents of the archipelago and to emphasize the importance of music as a cultural and social phenomenon on the islands.
