Emergency services successfully contained a fire at an industrial warehouse in Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s El Mayorazgo estate, preventing structural collapse and further damage to neighboring businesses.

Emergency management protocols were put to the test once again last Wednesday night at the El Mayorazgo Industrial Estate in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. An accident at an industrial warehouse caused damage to the building's upper structure, triggering a high-level alert due to the potential risk of fire spreading or the building collapsing.

Firefighters, supported by the Local and National Police, acted quickly to contain the fire before the structural damage could lead to a larger disaster. While the initial emergency response was prepared for a critical situation, the final outcome was less severe than first feared. As a precaution, the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) kept a medical team on-site throughout the operation to provide immediate assistance if needed.

This incident highlights the importance of strict fire safety regulations in the Canary Islands' industrial sector, where the close proximity of warehouses and stored flammable materials requires constant vigilance. The coordinated response between emergency services was decisive in limiting damage to the warehouse, which is located on the estate’s main access road, and ensured that neighboring businesses could continue their operations without disruption.
