Elena Villamandos to Present New Poetry Collection in Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Elena Villamandos will present her new poetry collection, Cancionero triste y otras pequeñas piezas eróticas, this Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at La Librería del Cabildo in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife’s literary scene has a new addition: Cancionero triste y otras pequeñas piezas eróticas by Elena Villamandos. The book will be presented this Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at La Librería del Cabildo.
This release marks the latest milestone for Villamandos, an author known for her work across various genres, including novels and short stories. Her previous bibliography includes Alteración y fuga, Pasajeros del tiempo, La criatura en el espejo, and Curiosas ataduras. Cuentario, as well as her poetry collections Poética y vida and Egipto. In this new volume, she focuses on themes of introspection and subjectivity. Published by Fuerte Letra, the book features editing by Tomás G. Ahola and analysis by linguist and poet Antonio M. Piñero, both of whom will join the author at the presentation.
The launch is part of a broader effort to revitalize contemporary poetry in the Canary Islands, where independent publishers are vital for showcasing voices outside of mainstream commercial circuits. Fuerte Letra’s support for this collection highlights how local publishers help diverse, intimate works find an audience. The event in Tenerife also reinforces the importance of institutional spaces in promoting regional literature.
