Tenerife-born point guard Elena Buenavida has secured her third consecutive Liga Femenina Endesa title with Valencia Basket, capping a breakout season that cements her status as a rising star for the Spanish national team.

Elena Buenavida has reached a new milestone in her basketball career, helping Valencia Basket secure another Liga Femenina Endesa title. The Tenerife-born point guard celebrated her third consecutive championship with the club after a thrilling 68-67 victory over Basket Zaragoza in the final series.

This success highlights the significant growth of the Granadilla native, who has stepped into a larger role under coach Rubén Burgos. During the finals, Buenavida averaged 9.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists over 24 minutes per game. She was particularly impressive in the opening match, scoring 19 points—including three three-pointers—to earn a performance index rating of 24.

Her season has been defined by consistency across all competitions. In the EuroLeague, she averaged 7.6 points over 11 games, and she played a key role in winning the Copa de la Reina, contributing 10 points in the final against Jairis.

Buenavida’s breakout season is set to continue on the international stage. After competing in the World Cup Qualifiers in Puerto Rico, she is preparing for her debut at the World Cup in Berlin this September. Before heading to Germany, she will join the national team for warm-up matches in Tenerife in mid-August.

Her rise reflects a growing trend of Spanish clubs successfully integrating young talent into elite programs. By maintaining high performance levels across domestic, European, and international play, Buenavida has established herself as a vital prospect for the future of the Spanish national team.
