
Elcano Docks in Santa Cruz, Open to Public
The Spanish Navy's training ship, Juan Sebastián Elcano, is visiting Santa Cruz de Tenerife until Sunday as part of its 98th training cruise, offering public visits.
The Spanish Navy's training ship, Juan Sebastián Elcano, is visiting Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It will be in port from today until Sunday, the 18th, as part of its 98th training cruise.
The ship is scheduled to dock at 8:00 AM in the Dársena de Los Llanos. This will be its first stop since leaving Cádiz on the 10th, carrying 73 midshipmen and its regular crew.
Naval authorities will welcome the ship, along with honors from the "Gesta del 25 de Julio de 1797" Historical-Cultural Association.
Throughout the day, several official events are planned, including receptions with representatives from various island government bodies.
While docked, the ship will be open for public visits. Tomorrow morning, about fifteen groups from schools will tour the ship. In the afternoon, it will be open to the public from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
On Saturday, the general public can visit this iconic ship from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and again from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
