The El Socorro beach in Tenerife will host the 2025 El Socorro stage of the European Tour of Bodyboard (ETB) and a stage of the Canary Islands Junior Surfing Tour, as well as the II International Wave Protection Days and the Socorro Classic Sounds music festival.

The ETB 2025 El Socorro, a stage of the European Tour of Bodyboarding (ETB), was officially presented at the San Pedro viewpoint. The competition will take place on El Socorro beach. The stage of the Canary Junior Surfing Tour will also be held there.

The Mayor of Los Realejos, Adolfo González, said that the main creators of this event are young athletes who practice this sport in a wonderful place – El Socorro beach. The competition will last from the 24th to the 28th of this month.

This year, the Socorro Classic has become even larger. More than 40% of the participants are athletes not from the Canary Islands, but from Spain, Portugal, France, England, and Morocco. Registration is still ongoing, so hurry up to grab the last spots! The competition will be held in the Open, Women, Junior, and Dropknee categories.

The Canary Surfing Federation launched this initiative in El Socorro. Now, in addition to the stage of the European Championship, it will host the stage of the Canary Surfing Tour among juniors. The cultural program has also been expanded – the II International Days for the Protection of Waves, organized by the University of La Laguna (ULL), will take place.

The event, which takes place in the northern bay, involves speakers from Peru, El Salvador, Chile, and Australia, as well as Canary experts. The organizers are in collaboration with the Vice-Rector for Sustainability and Infrastructure of ULL.

The cultural program includes the II Socorro Classic Sounds Music Festival. From Thursday the 25th to Saturday the 27th, six DJs will perform, including many women: the Pimienta Selectoras collective, DJ Courtney, Eva Olvido, and Belinda. Dubwise Tenerife will open the program on Thursday the 25th. In addition, the Socorro Classic screens will show films from the international film program Save the Waves Film Festival – eight films about surfing.

Álvaro Padrón, well-known in the world of bodyboarding and associated with the beach of Tenerife, emphasized that two world bodyboarding champions, both from the Canary Islands, will take part in the event: Alexandra Rinder and Armide Soliveres. The multiple world champion, Frenchman Amaury Lavernhe, who now lives in the Canary Islands, will also come. Padrón emphasized that for those who do not yet have a title, El Socorro is a chance to make a name for themselves, as Angelo López did last year.

"We have many years of experience in the Canary Islands, and my generation has paved the way," said the rider from Tenerife, adding that El Socorro beach is famous for its stability. "It seems that the weather forecast promises optimal conditions," he concluded.
