El Sauzal City Council approved a 12,726,206 euro budget for next year, which is 4.1% smaller than the previous one but includes a 7.5% increase in social spending to address residents' needs.

El Sauzal City Council will operate with a budget of 12,726,206 euros next year. This budget was approved yesterday by the town council. It passed with votes in favour from the governing party (CC). Councilors from the Independent Association of El Sauzal-Nueva Canarias (AISA-NC) and the Popular Party abstained, while the Socialist Party councilor voted against it.

The budget for next year is 4.1% smaller than the previous one. This is because it doesn't yet include funds transferred from other government bodies, such as the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo de Tenerife. Mayor Mariano Pérez clarified that the budget could still increase by the end of the year if more grants are received.

Most other budget areas remain largely unchanged. However, social spending has seen a 7.5% increase, reaching 1,069,066 euros. This extra funding will go to various groups, including the music band, sports and senior clubs, social and cultural groups, Parents' Associations (Ampas), and the Northeast Commonwealth.

Mayor Pérez emphasized that "an increased budget has been prepared based on all the municipality's needs." He added that the governing team's goal with this financial plan is to focus on meeting the demands of El Sauzal's residents, especially in social services, education, sports, and culture.
