El Rosario Implements Nightly Water Cuts Following Pumping System Failure
The El Rosario council has implemented scheduled nighttime water cuts and urged residents to maintain private storage tanks following a mechanical failure in the local pumping system.
The local council in El Rosario, Tenerife, has activated its Municipal Emergency Plan (PEMU) due to a mechanical failure in the pumping system between La Parra and the La Montañeta reservoir. To ensure there is enough water for everyone during the day, the council has introduced scheduled nighttime water cuts while repairs are carried out.
These restrictions will remain in place until the pumping infrastructure is fully operational again.
In light of this issue, the council is reminding residents of their obligations under Article 69 of the Municipal Supply Service Regulations. This rule requires property owners to have their own water storage systems, such as cisterns or tanks, to ensure they have a reserve supply during unexpected service interruptions.
The council emphasizes that these private storage systems are essential for maintaining water autonomy during network failures. Local officials have apologized to residents for the inconvenience caused by these necessary repairs.
