The Local Government Board has approved a €2 million municipal project to upgrade Tabaiba Media and Alta's infrastructure, including water, sewage, and telecommunications networks, marking the first phase of a larger revitalization plan for El Rosario.

The Local Government Board has given the green light to a contract for upgrading infrastructure in Tabaiba Media and Alta. This is the first step in a larger plan to revamp the entire area of El Rosario. The initial work will focus on Aceviño, Guaydil, Cardón, and a section of Drago streets. Palmera street will also be included once a planned change is finalized.

The project has a budget of two million euros, funded by the municipality itself. This money will be used to replace all essential public service networks, including water, sewage, telecommunications, electricity, and lighting.

Escolástico Gil, the mayor of El Rosario, expressed his satisfaction with the project's approval. He stated that it will finally allow them to address the long-standing development needs of this important area, which has suffered from neglect and has not been officially adopted by the council. The mayor explained that the goal is to completely transform Tabaiba Alta and Media in stages, starting from the upper part near the German school and working down towards the Southern Motorway.

The redevelopment aims to fix the current poor and inconsistent condition of the streets and basic urban services. This densely populated residential area currently has unfinished streets, uneven surfaces, damaged or missing pavements, and layouts that don't meet modern standards.

There are also significant issues with the supply networks, requiring the sectorization and complete replacement of pipes and domestic connections. Additionally, the lack or inadequacy of sewage and rainwater systems leads to problems with drainage and flood risks.

Several streets have problems with their telecommunications network, needing new main and secondary conduits, manholes, and connections. Work is also needed to complete the civil engineering for electricity and install new public lighting where it's missing or insufficient. Improvements will also be made to accessibility, signage, and safety features, such as new walls, railings, sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, and traffic management systems.

Last year, the City Council hired the public company Gestur Canarias to update the development plan for Tabaiba Media and Alta. Since the original plan was from 2006, the updated document includes necessary changes to comply with current regulations regarding accessibility, supply, sanitation, and telecommunications.
