El Paso has officially submitted a bid to host the 2027 Spanish Trail Running Championships while simultaneously launching "Reventón AULA," an educational initiative designed to integrate sports and environmental awareness into local schools.

El Paso is cementing its status as a national hub for trail running with a bold new goal: hosting the 2027 Spanish Championships. Following the recent success of the 14th Reventón El Paso Fred.Olsen Express, organizers have officially submitted their bid to the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. A decision is expected by mid-April. If successful, the town will host a variety of competitive categories, including a new pure ascent "Uphill" race, as well as the Up&Down, Classic, and Long Race Ultra events.

This bid highlights the organization’s growing ambition and long-term planning. During the trophy ceremony at Plaza Francisca de Gazmira, organizers confirmed that the 15th edition of the race is already scheduled for April 3, 2027. This early planning is designed to ensure the logistical stability of an event that has become a vital economic and social driver for La Palma.

Beyond the competition, the organization is expanding its community impact with the launch of "Reventón AULA." Taking place on April 29 at Hacienda del Pino, this initiative aims to bring sports into local classrooms. Supported by the Canary Islands government, the project will involve nearly 90 teachers and over 600 students, ranging from ages 3 to 18, from five local schools. By using trail running as a teaching tool, the program hopes to foster a deeper connection to the local landscape and promote environmental awareness among the island's youth, proving that the event is about much more than just racing.
