El Niño Sombra Explores Digital Truth in New Los Silos Exhibition
The Encuentros en el Mar festival is hosting El Niño Sombra’s exhibition Te lo digo como lo siento at the Sala Pérez Enríquez in Los Silos, featuring collages that critique digital communication and media overload through May 31st.
The 22nd Encuentros en el Mar: Transculturalidades festival is currently hosting a thought-provoking exhibition at the Sala Pérez Enríquez in Los Silos. Titled Te lo digo como lo siento (I’m telling you as I feel it), the show features work by the artist El Niño Sombra, who uses his art to examine how we communicate in the digital age and the challenges of finding truth in a world of information overload.
Running until May 31st, the exhibition consists of fifteen collages. The artist blends historical figures with modern visual symbols, using a nostalgic aesthetic to challenge the constant stream of media we consume today. By moving away from literal meanings and embracing irony, the work encourages viewers to think more critically about the messages they encounter every day.
This project is a key part of the Encuentros en el Mar festival, which aims to spark conversation about culture and media. It is produced by Cauproges and supported by the Government of the Canary Islands, along with several local councils and organizations, including Los Silos, Buenavista del Norte, Icod de los Vinos, Telde, Club La Provincia, and La Parte Baja.
The exhibition is open to the public Monday through Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Sunday mornings. It serves as a reminder of the importance of local cultural spaces in helping us navigate and analyze the fast-paced, often fragmented world of modern communication.
