El Fraile Residents Demand Arona Act on Rubbish Hazard
Residents in El Fraile, Arona, are demanding the City Council address a severe, months-long rubbish problem on Lanzarote Street, citing health risks from pests and dangerous fallen fences.
Residents in El Fraile, a popular district within the municipality of Arona, reported a severe problem with rubbish on Lanzarote Street, specifically at number 82, to this newspaper yesterday.
Local residents are outraged by the situation, which has been ongoing for months. They complain about foul odors and, more importantly, that the accumulated trash poses a health risk, as they say it has attracted rats and cockroaches.
They also point out that the fences around the privately owned plot have fallen down, making it dangerous for people walking on the pavement, including children. As a result, they are demanding that the Arona City Council "take action," adopt "security measures," and "put an end to this dump once and for all" in their southern district.
