Restaurante El Fogón in Valle de Guerra has won the top prize in the fifth annual Northeast Region Goat Route. The restaurant received the most votes from customers, with the award presented at the Tejina Farmers' Market.

This popular food event, a highlight in the local calendar, saw many people turn out to sample dishes made with goat meat, a specialty of the Northeast Region.

Cristina Ledesma, the Councilor for Rural Development, praised the high level of participation. She noted that the event helps to "showcase the culinary creativity and the quality of the region's products, with goat meat being a key part of the local economy."

Abbas Moujir, president of FAUCA, added that this year's event "strengthens an initiative that supports local businesses and restaurants." He also stressed that working together, "administrations and businesses can create events that draw crowds and bring life to commercial areas."

Iván Pérez, president of La Laguna Zona Comercial, emphasized the Northeast Region's importance to the area's food scene. He said the award ceremony "celebrates the efforts of the participating restaurants" and that the event "strengthens ties with local producers and highlights the region's unique offerings."

This year, customers voted online using QR codes found at each participating restaurant. This allowed them to easily access details about the businesses, find them on a map, and read descriptions of the dishes offered.
