Eilyn Amores Guides 'Ítaca' Tour at Espacio Bronzo Friday
Espacio Bronzo will host a guided tour this Friday at 5 PM for Cuban artist Eilyn Amores' "Ítaca, Ítaca, Ítaca…" exhibition, featuring drawings and sculptures exploring her journey between the Caribbean and Macaronesia, with the artist leading the discussion.
Espacio Bronzo is hosting a guided tour this Friday at 5:00 PM for the exhibition 'Ítaca, Ítaca, Ítaca…', which showcases works by Eilyn Amores. Artist Eilyn Amores will be at the gallery all afternoon to greet visitors. She will also lead the tour and discuss her artwork.
The Cuban artist's collection features 10 marker ink drawings on paper and four sculptures. Two of the sculptures are made from patinated bronze and silver. The other two are crafted from hand-painted and hand-lettered wood, also featuring figures of patinated silver. You can see the exhibition until February 12th at the La Laguna gallery, located at 19 Núñez de la Peña Street.
'Ítaca, Ítaca, Ítaca…' explores parts of the artist's journey between the Caribbean and Macaronesia. Art historian Germán F. Rodríguez Cabrera notes that the works avoid themes of existential anguish. He also points out that some pieces "are reminiscent of engravings," a style not often seen in this region, which the artist mastered in her home country of Cuba.
