Ecoembres and the Nordeste Commonwealth launched a new environmental campaign, "We leave a mark, but without leaving a trace," to improve recycling habits and correct common sorting errors across six towns.

Ecoembres and the Nordeste Commonwealth have launched a new environmental campaign. This group includes the towns of El Rosario, El Sauzal, Tacoronte, La Matanza de Acentejo, La Victoria de Acentejo, and Santa Úrsula. The campaign's slogan is "We leave a mark, but without leaving a trace." Its main goal is to help people in these six towns recycle better by sorting their waste correctly and encouraging good recycling habits.

Over the past year, local waste services have noticed people often make mistakes when using recycling bins, especially for plastic packaging, paper, and cardboard. Common errors include putting the wrong type of rubbish in the bins, not flattening cardboard boxes, using bags that are too big and block the bin openings, or mixing materials that should be kept separate.

Through this joint effort, Ecoembes and the Commonwealth want to give everyone clear and easy-to-understand information on how to recycle properly.

The campaign stresses that what each person does is vital for protecting our shared environment and making waste collection more efficient. Sorting waste correctly doesn't just mean more items get recycled and fewer inappropriate things end up in the wrong bins; it also supports a circular economy and helps local areas become more sustainable.

With its core message, "We leave a mark, but without leaving a trace," the campaign aims to strengthen everyone's shared responsibility and build lasting habits for better environmental care across all six towns in the Nordeste Commonwealth.
