Drexmin Aligns Business Strategy with UN 2030 Agenda to Drive Sustainability
Tenerife-based fire protection firm Drexmin has officially aligned its business strategy with the UN’s 2030 Agenda, investing heavily in environmental sustainability and local social impact initiatives.
Integrating social responsibility into business is no longer just a trend; it is now a market requirement. According to recent documentation from the Tenerife-based firm Drexmin, in collaboration with FEMETE, the company has officially aligned its sustainability strategy with the UN’s 2030 Agenda. This move goes well beyond their core business of fire protection.
Over the last five years, Drexmin has invested more than 420,000 euros in environmental initiatives. With three decades of experience in the sector, the company has introduced several key improvements, including generating its own nitrogen for fire extinguisher maintenance, switching to a hybrid and electric vehicle fleet, and utilizing a solar power system that has been active since 2008. These efforts, combined with certified waste management and a supply chain where 80% of partners are local, have helped the company meet ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
Beyond its environmental work, the company has invested nearly 57,000 euros in social impact programs over the last five years. Since 2023, they have supported inclusive sports through a partnership with the ADEIN Tenerife club. The club’s recent successes—including winning the Spanish BSR Cup and competing internationally—have helped promote inclusion. Additionally, Drexmin sponsors the Los Lomos Trail children's race, further strengthening its ties to the local community.
By aligning its goals with UN objectives for water, energy, responsible production, and partnerships, Drexmin proves that even small and medium-sized enterprises can make a significant impact. Through collaborations with organizations like the University of La Laguna, the Red Cross, and UNICEF, the company aims to balance industrial activity with community well-being. In an economy that increasingly values transparency and ethics, Drexmin serves as a prime example of how sustainability can be a core part of a successful business model.
