In San Juan de la Rambla, a local resident found discarded school books, including historical publications about the town, in a recycling container, sparking outrage in the community.

A local resident of San Juan de la Rambla (who asked not to be named) was very surprised and upset by what he saw on Saturday. He went to throw out recycling, and when he wanted to throw away paper and cardboard, he found a pile of books in a blue container near the Ángel Guimerá school.

The books were in good condition, with the school's seal inside and stickers on the spines. The man realized that these were books from the school library.

He said that among the books found were those that tell about the history of their city, such as "Five Centuries in the History of San Juan de la Rambla". He also found a book about the Canary Islands and a comic book based on the famous novel "Fahrenheit 451".

The man decided to take the books so that other people could use them. He believes that many of these books can still be useful for students studying history, art, geography, or Spanish.

Other local residents were also upset to see the school seal on the books. They believe that the school could have announced that it was getting rid of old books, or organized a place where those who wanted them could pick them up.

A local education official, Juan Siverio, said that he knew nothing about the school's decision and that no one had consulted with the city council. He promised to contact the school principal to find out why the books ended up in the trash.
