Docurock Spotlights Las Ratas' Txowie in New Photo Exhibition
The Docurock festival will open a new photo exhibition by Javi Felipe this Thursday at Equipo PARA, spotlighting Txowie, frontman of Tenerife band Las Ratas.
The music documentary film festival Docurock is shining a spotlight on Txowie, the frontman and one of the singers of the Tenerife band Las Ratas.
They're doing this with a new photo exhibition by Javi Felipe. Journalist Diego F. Hernández wrote the accompanying text for the display, which opens this Thursday at 8:30 PM at the Equipo PARA cultural association (La Marina 4, Santa Cruz de Tenerife).
The exhibition features 15 photos that show all sides of the singer, capturing him where he's most at home: on stage. This exhibition is part of the Docurock festival program and will be open until the end of November.
Javi Felipe explained why he chose Txowie, who sings alongside Cris and Nasser in Las Ratas. He said it's because of Txowie's "charisma on stage" and how challenging he is to photograph due to his "versatility and unpredictable movements."
The photos tell the story of Txowie's "thirty-something-year journey" with his band. He describes it as "a lot of fun and sometimes sad, but basically fun."
