Disruptive Passenger Forces Vueling Flight Back to Tenerife
A Vueling flight bound for Alicante was forced to return to Tenerife North shortly after takeoff due to a disruptive passenger, prompting an emergency landing coordinated by air traffic controllers.
Trouble on flights to the Canary Islands is happening again. This time, it wasn't a plane issue, a passenger's health, or bad weather. Instead, a disruptive passenger caused a Vueling flight heading to Alicante to turn back.
Air traffic controllers announced on their official X account that the plane, which had taken off from Tenerife North for Alicante, had to return shortly after departure due to a passenger causing problems.
"The flight crew from Tenerife North to Alicante has told us they need to come back because of a disruptive passenger," the air traffic controllers' X account stated. "We're making their landing approach as quick as possible and arranging for security to be there when they land."
Because of this, air traffic controllers guided the plane into a fast approach for an emergency landing to keep everyone on board safe.
When the plane landed, security officers were waiting on the tarmac to arrest the individual, as is standard procedure for these kinds of incidents.
