Direct-to-Consumer Model Makes Artisanal Pasta Affordable in Tenerife
Tenerife-based pasta producer Il Falco is gaining popularity by bypassing middlemen to sell high-quality, authentic Italian dishes directly to customers at competitive prices.
Artisanal food is becoming more accessible in the Canary Islands thanks to a new business model: small-scale producers selling directly to the public. As highlighted by content creator @elsiciliano_tenerife, Il Falco – Pasta per Passione in Costa del Silencio is a prime example. Located in the Coralmar Shopping Center, the business has shifted from supplying other restaurants to serving customers directly on-site.
This trend is all about cutting out the middleman. By removing extra costs, the shop can offer high-quality, homemade pasta at competitive prices, with dishes starting at just 7 euros. The space is functional and modest, focusing on the food rather than a traditional restaurant atmosphere. Customers can enjoy a meal in the small dining area or buy fresh pasta to cook at home.
The menu sticks to traditional Italian recipes, which has earned the shop a 4.7-star rating on Google. Popular dishes include spinach and ricotta ravioli, carbonara, amatriciana, and eggplant parmigiana. Because the business functions primarily as a production workshop, they keep costs low and pass those savings on to the customer.
The shop operates like a workshop rather than a typical restaurant, open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (closed on weekends). This schedule highlights the project’s true nature: an artisanal pasta maker in the south of Tenerife that happens to offer a few tables for those who want to eat in.
