Triumph on the Dance Floor: Students of the «Dians» Dance Club Conquer Prestigious Championship in Malaga
Ukrainian coaches in Tenerife continue to train champions, popularizing ballroom dance culture in the Canary Islands.
On November 16, 2025, Malaga became the center of dance sports in Spain. Twelve students from the «Dians» ballroom dance club demonstrated their skills on the grand stage of the Spanish National Championship. Despite the fact that many of them only began their journey in the world of dance this academic year, the results were impressive.
Behind the successes of the young athletes lies the immense work of the club's founders, Anna and Dmytro Sorochan. The coaching couple are top-level specialists: Masters of Sport, champions of Ukraine and Europe, international judges, and members of the Spanish DanceSport Federation. With higher specialized education, they do not just teach dancing; they are shaping the future sports elite of the Canary Islands.
This year's tournament was special for the newcomers. Zlatoslava and Eva-Viktoriia Seiler made their first steps on the big stage, worthily representing the club in the beginner categories. Second-year students also demonstrated a high level of preparation.
The club's trophy collection was enriched with the following results:
- Anna Baterykova: 3rd place in the Solo U6 open Single Dance (Waltz) category.
- Zlata Udovychenko: 4th place in Solo U8 beginner 2 Dance (Waltz-Quickstep).
- Paul Christian Rakov: a true multi-medalist of the tournament—two 3rd places (Solo U10 beginner and Solo U10 open Tango) and 5th place in the Latin program. In the pairs category, Paul Christian Rakov and Kristina Sorochan demonstrated perfect synergy, winning gold (1st place) in the W-Q program and bronze (3rd place) in the C-J program (Rising Stars).
A special point of pride for the club was the performance of Kristina Sorochan, the coaches' daughter. The young star confirmed her status as the reigning champion of Spain, winning the title of absolute champion in two categories at once:
- 1st place — Solo U12 open Spanish Cup (Latin program).
- 1st place — Solo U10 open Spanish Cup (Standard program).
For the «Dians» club, this championship is just another step. Anna and Dmytro Sorochan have set an ambitious goal: not only to develop their passion in Tenerife but to make ballroom dancing one of the most popular sports across the entire Canary archipelago.
«We see incredible potential in our children and strive to open up the best stages in Europe for them,» the coaches noted.
Congratulations to the athletes and their mentors on a brilliant performance, and we wish them new victories under the «Dians» banner!
