Coalición Canaria has officially confirmed Diana Mora as its mayoral candidate for Puerto de la Cruz, tasking her with revitalizing the party's local influence and urban development strategy ahead of the upcoming municipal elections.

The race for mayor in Puerto de la Cruz is taking shape as Coalición Canaria (CC) makes a key strategic move. Diana Mora has been confirmed as the party’s sole candidate after receiving 116 internal endorsements, officially launching her campaign for the upcoming municipal elections.

Mora, who currently serves as the director of the Tenerife Health Area, has also led the local branch of her party for the past year. She aims to build on the party’s current role in the local government, as CC is part of the three-party coalition that took power following a motion of no confidence in August 2024, which removed Socialist Marco González from office. The coalition also includes the Popular Party and Asamblea Ciudadana Portuense.

Mora’s platform focuses on reorganizing the party’s influence in local management, with a specific goal of revitalizing the Urban Consortium, which she views as essential for the city’s growth. To develop her proposals, she has begun consulting with the party’s 512 members, supported by councilors Alonso Acevedo and Elsie Tavío, who have managed the party’s work in the City Council throughout this term.

The official launch of her campaign will take place this Thursday at the Hotel Marquesa during an Extraordinary General Assembly. This event will mark the start of new working groups tasked with incorporating neighborhood concerns into the party’s electoral program. Mora hopes to distinguish her campaign from national party politics and restore the influence that CC has lost in the municipality in recent years.
