Tacoronte is preparing for the Cristo de Tacoronte festivities: concerts, contests, and a fair.
Tacoronte kicks off the Cristo de Tacoronte festivities with concerts by David Bustamante, Soraya, the Queen of the Vendimia election, and various cultural events.
Cantabrian singer David Bustamante will light up the Cristo de Tacoronte festival! He will give a free concert as part of his Inédito tour. Come to Cristo Square on Friday the 26th at 10:00 PM.
And this year, the Queen of Vendimia will be chosen! Nine beauties from Tacoronte will compete for the title. The gala concert will take place on Friday the 19th. The La Mar show, performances by the Guarache folk group and Los Sabandeños await you.
The organizers have revived traditional competitions: the XXIII Photographic Marathon and the XLII Alhóndiga Canary Couplets and Romances Competition. And this year, the Carmen Castro Prize for Painting and Sculpture of the City of Tacoronte will be held for the first time.
Mayor Sandra Izquierdo, Head of Festivities Noemí García, Security Councilor Vanessa Luis-Ravelo, and Parish Priest of the Cristo Sanctuary Elisuan Delgado spoke about the celebration program. A draw was also held to determine the order of performances of the candidates for the titles of Queen of Arts, Queen of Vendimia, Children's Princess, and Queen of Senior Citizens.
The celebrations will start this Friday at the Capitol Auditorium with the premiere of the play Libros Cruzados by the Delirium Teatro company. On Sunday the 7th, José Ángel Almenar Fuentes will deliver a speech, followed by the traditional Taponazo de las fiestas – a big concert featuring singer Soraya, Edwin Rivera, Victoria Escudero, Rafael Flores El Morocho, and others. Come on Saturday the 13th at 10:00 PM, admission is free!
The Festival of the Arts and the election of the Queen of the Festivities will take place on Friday the 12th. Priscila Estevez, Natalia, and Blas Cantó will perform. And on Sunday the 14th, there will be a Gala Concert for Senior Citizens with the musical company of Agustín Ramírez from the Los Diablos group and Yamiley Cruz from Mariachi Peleón. For children, on Wednesday the 17th, there will be a show – the Children's Gala Concert of the Princess 2025 with El Gran Show de Komba and the Canarian soloist Mario Falero.
The main day of the festival is Sunday, September 28. The doors of the Cristo Sanctuary will be opened to receive pilgrims from all over the island. In the morning, the thirty-ninth craft fair will begin, and at noon, there will be a religious service and a procession with the image of the Holy Cristo de los Dolores, accompanied by the authorities, the brotherhood, and the Santa Cecilia orchestra. The celebration will end the next day with a big party for the whole family.
