Dalí-Inspired Gala Electronic Music Event Finalizes Lineup for New Year's Eve Debut
Gala, an artistic event merging electronic music with Salvador Dalí's surrealism, has finalized its New Year's Eve lineup featuring DJ Drummer, Ibán Mendoza, and Chus, with local artists contributing to immersive scenography and visuals inspired by Dalí.
Gala, a unique artistic event blending electronic music with the surreal world of Salvador Dalí, has finalized its lineup. Canarian DJ Drummer will join the bill, bringing his signature underground sound before sets by Ibán Mendoza and Chus. The show kicks off its international tour on New Year's Eve, December 31st, at the Puerto Colón Nautical Club in Adeje. Local talent Leo Martínez and Israel de Carlos are contributing to the scenography and visual narrative.
Cronopia Produce is organizing this exclusive New Year's Eve party, which has a limited capacity. Tickets are available at tomaticket.es. An early bird offer is running until Saturday, November 15th, giving you the last chance to buy at reduced prices. General admission is 35 euros and includes one drink, while VIP tickets cost 70 euros and offer backstage access, a drink, and a meet & greet with the artists.
DJ Drummer is a well-respected local artist known for his diverse style, having shared stages with electronic music heavyweights like Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Marco Carola, and Steve Lawler. He has performed at major festivals such as El Row, La Misa, and Magma Meeting, and at prominent venues in Ibiza, Barcelona, and Valencia. Now, Drummer will collaborate with Ibán Mendoza, the creator of Gala, and the acclaimed DJ Chus, known for his energetic Iberian sound. Both Mendoza and Chus have recently been nominated for the Vicious Music awards, Spain's official electronic music awards.
The Tenerife production of Gala by Ibán Mendoza heavily features Canarian artists. Israel de Carlos, who designed the visuals for the show's Ibiza residency, is responsible for the visual concept.
De Carlos explained that Gala's visuals are inspired by Dalí's colors and storytelling, reinterpreting his ideas intuitively rather than strictly adhering to them, allowing the music of each DJ to guide the creative process.
He achieves a fluid and immersive Dalí-esque experience using a morph effect, which smoothly transitions between images in a hypnotic way.
Leo Martínez is handling the scenography and much of the wardrobe, staying true to the Gala by Ibán Mendoza brand. He stated that the props are inspired by Dalí's iconic imagery, featuring a large spiral clock and melting clocks to represent the fluidity of time, alongside long-legged elephants, pelicans, and butterflies symbolizing fragility and transformation.
Martínez is also designing costumes for the contemporary dance troupe and the cast of Canarian actors. Additional scenic elements, including fire, aerial acrobatics, stilt walkers, and performers dressed as Dalí and Gala themselves, will interact with the audience, creating an immersive experience that combines electronic music, performing arts, and surrealism.
