Cyclist Killed by Vehicle in South Tenerife

A cyclist died Monday evening in Arona, south Tenerife, after being hit by a vehicle.

A man cycling in the south of Tenerife died on Monday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle.

The accident happened just after 8 PM on a road in Arona. Emergency services for the Canary Islands government reported the incident.

The man was riding on kilometer 6 of the TF-652 island road, which links Las Chafiras with the coastal town of Las Galletas.

The 1-1-2 emergency call center dispatched various teams. These included medical staff from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) in both an advanced life support ambulance and a basic life support ambulance. Traffic Civil Guards from Granadilla, Arona local police officers, and road maintenance crews also responded.

Sadly, the ambulance crews could only confirm the man had died at the scene. Officers from the Arona Local Police's Accident Investigation Unit have started preparing their report on what happened.

Traffic Civil Guards and other Arona Local Police officers worked with the other emergency teams and managed traffic at the site.
