A critically ill baby was urgently flown from Gran Canaria to Tenerife, requiring a special landing on an unusual runway at Tenerife North Airport to expedite immediate medical attention.

A critically ill baby was flown from Gran Canaria to Tenerife this Monday in an urgent medical operation. The flight required a special landing at Tenerife North Airport.

According to air traffic officials, the runway normally in use was runway 12. However, to save time and get the young patient immediate medical attention, the crew was allowed to land on the opposite runway, runway 30.

This unusual landing was made possible by close teamwork between the Canary Islands Control Center, Tenerife North Air Traffic Control, and the medical aircraft's crew.

After landing, the baby was immediately taken to a hospital for specialized care. The baby's current condition is unknown.
