Tenerife will host the SM La Reina Iberdrola Cup women's volleyball tournament from January 22-25, 2026, for the first time in eight years, featuring the top eight Iberdrola League teams competing for the title.

Tenerife will once again host the SM La Reina Iberdrola Cup, a knockout tournament, after an eight-year break. From January 22 to 25, 2026, the island will welcome the top eight teams from the first half of the Iberdrola League. They will compete to take the title from current champions, Avarca de Menorca. One of the teams hoping to win will be local club, CV Haris Tenerife Libby's La Laguna.

The Quico Cabrera Sports Hall in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will host the tournament. For four days, it will be the hub of national women's volleyball, bringing together the country's eight best teams. The Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation (RFEVB) is organizing the event, with support from Iberdrola, the Tenerife Island Council (Cabildo de Tenerife), the Canary Islands Government, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council. The Canary Islands Volleyball Federation is also collaborating.

Bringing the tournament to the Canary Islands shows a strong commitment to developing sports. It also solidifies Tenerife's reputation as a top host for major national and international competitions, building on its history as a key venue for Spanish women's volleyball.

The venue is named after Quico Cabrera, a pivotal figure who, as president of Club Voleibol Tenerife, led Spanish volleyball for nearly two decades. The Quico Cabrera Sports Hall has previously hosted events like the Princess Cup and the Women's Superliga 2 Final Phase, further proving the island's ability to organize large-scale competitions.

Tickets and season passes for the tournament go on sale from November 5. You can buy them on the official website: https://tickets.oneboxtds.com/rfevb-tickets/events/49663?sessionView=LIST. There will be four price categories. Season passes cost between 40 and 180 euros, while daily tickets range from 4 to 65 euros. Children under 18 get a 50% discount. As a special launch offer, you can get a 25% discount until December 1 by using the code ESVOLEY when you buy your tickets.

This return marks the first time the Copa de la Reina Iberdrola has been held in Tenerife since 2018. That year, the tournament took place at the Juan Ríos Tejera Sports Hall in La Laguna, ending a twenty-year absence from the island. The 51st SM La Reina Iberdrola Cup will keep its usual format: eight teams will compete, and their matchups will be decided by a draw. In 2018, Arona Tenerife Sur reached the final after beating CV Haris, but ultimately finished as runner-up, losing 3-1 to VB Logroño.
