Club Batistana Tenerife has cemented its status as a rising force in rhythmic gymnastics following a standout performance in Santander. The club’s success at the recent Base Cup and the opening phase of the Spanish Cup—where they secured six medals—highlights the strength of their youth academy and the effectiveness of their training programs.
At the Base Cup, the club took top honors in both the youth and benjamin categories. The youth squad—featuring Gisela García, Cristina Vázquez, Alejandra López, Karla Vilar, Yael Hazan, Giselle Rodríguez, and Marina Yonte—showed impressive maturity, while the benjamin team of Mía Gómez, Elizabeth Korepina, Yasmin Ben Abdellah, Lucía Ayra, and Carla García proved the depth of the club’s younger talent. The club also earned a silver medal in the infant category and a fourth-place finish in the cadet category. Meanwhile, fellow regional clubs Ritmicod and Odisea placed 17th and 22nd in the alevin category.
Batistana’s success continued as they moved into the absolute category at the Spanish Cup. Their infant group secured a silver medal, helping the Canary Islands lead the regional rankings. The club also took home two bronze medals in the First and Senior categories, along with a fourth-place finish in the junior division, demonstrating consistency across all levels. Club Intara also performed well, finishing sixth in the Senior category.
The club’s influence extended to the individual Queen’s Cup, where the Canary Islands team finished fourth. The team was largely composed of Batistana gymnasts, including Daniela Corina Herrera, Valentina Bautista, Serena Nazareth González, and Violeta Jiménez. These results confirm that the islands are a hotbed for gymnastics talent, positioning these athletes well for future national competitions as they continue to adapt to higher levels of technical demand.
