The Guimerá Theater in Santa Cruz is being restored by VVO Construcciones for 8 million euros.
The company VVO Construcciones y Proyectos will restore the Guimerá Theater in Santa Cruz for more than 8 million euros, allocated by the Government of the Canary Islands.
Yesterday, the Santa Cruz city authorities decided who will restore the Guimerá Theater. The contract was awarded to the company VVO Construcciones y Proyectos – Víctor Rodríguez e Hijos.
The works are planned to begin as early as next month. In 2025, 3 million euros will be invested, and in 2026 and 2027 – more than 5 million each year (a total of 5,076,558 euros). The aim is to completely renovate this building, which is important for the city, with this money.
This company won because it proposed installing solar panels on the construction trailer. This was an additional advantage, and they received the highest score for it.
The mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, said that the commission unanimously supported this company. The total cost of the works is more than 8 million euros. The money for this will be provided by the government of the Canary Islands.
The advisor on works, Javier Rivero, added that the repair of Recova Vieja will soon be completed, and part of this place can be used to store materials from the Guimerá Theater. That is why it has now become possible to sign a contract for restoration.
The advisor on culture, Santiago Díaz, noted that this is a very important event for the city. Without the help of the government of the Canary Islands, due to the high cost of the works, this would not be possible. Now the Guimerá Theater will finally be renovated.
