Civil Guard Video Highlights Banned Airport Items
The Civil Guard launched a video campaign showcasing a wide array of banned items intercepted at airport security, including knives, toy guns, and hidden drugs, to educate travelers on strict air safety regulations and the significant fines for violations.
The Civil Guard recently released a video on its official social media channels, highlighting the many banned items its officers stop at airport security checkpoints. This campaign aims to inform travelers about how strict air safety rules are and what happens if you don't follow them.
The video shows a wide range of confiscated items, from large knives to other items strictly forbidden in airports and on flights. Officers explain that these items are removed and then destroyed, an important step to keep everyone safe during their journey.
Among the most striking finds are toy guns, which are strictly not allowed in the cabin. The Civil Guard emphasizes that even if these toys don't work, their presence can cause alarm and panic among passengers. They also warn about things that look harmless, like slingshots, which can cause serious harm and are therefore incompatible with air safety standards.
The video also reveals officers intercepting normal containers, such as soft drink bottles, that some passengers try to use to hide illegal drugs, knives, or other dangerous items. A key point is the complete ban on transporting camping gas cylinders, due to the risk of explosion that cabin pressure could cause.
Under current laws, particularly Organic Law 4/2015 (March 30) on citizen security, there are strict penalties for breaking the rules about carrying, showing, or using banned or dangerous weapons. Fines for these offenses range from 601 to 30,000 euros, reflecting how seriously authorities take air travel safety.
