Cisneros La Laguna secured a decisive 3-0 victory over Bus Leader San Roque in a postponed match at the Gran Canaria Arena, earning crucial points and solidifying their spot in the Men's Superliga Top 7.

Cisneros La Laguna secured a decisive victory yesterday, winning a previously postponed first-round match against Bus Leader San Roque 3-0 at the Gran Canaria Arena. This win earned Miguel Rivera's team three crucial points, solidifying their spot in the Men's Superliga Top 7 ahead of three upcoming home games at the Juan Ríos Tejera.

The match began evenly, despite Cisneros' strong blocking. Both teams traded points, with Sergio Noda and Mateusz Frac leading the scoring for Cisneros, bringing the score to 7-7. As Cisneros edged ahead 9-11, the home team's coach called a timeout.

After the timeout, Bus Leader San Roque came back strong, building a formidable block at the net that disrupted La Laguna's attacks and forced Miguel Rivera to make adjustments, with the score at 16-14. Cisneros responded powerfully, first through Víctor Andreu's spikes and then Mateusz Frac's serves, which severely troubled the home defense, pushing them to 18-22. Cisneros maintained their momentum, closing out the set 20-25.

The second set began with both teams battling hard for every point. Cisneros took the lead at 6-8 and never relinquished it. They dominated their opponents in every aspect, surging across the court at the Gran Canaria Arena to build a significant lead of 11-20. Even the home team's timeouts couldn't halt Cisneros, who consistently found excellent spiking opportunities. Although San Roque managed a 3-0 run, hinting at a comeback, Rivera ensured his players remained focused, and Cisneros comfortably won the set 16-25.

Despite Cisneros holding a 2-0 lead in sets, the Gran Canaria team kept the third set close, reaching 8-8. However, Cisneros truly hit their stride in the latter half of the set. With Andreu performing well and their blocking exceptional, the Tenerife side quickly turned a 14-all tie into a commanding 17-21 lead. Cisneros continued their dominant run, securing the set 17-25 and sealing a comprehensive 3-0 victory at the Gran Canaria Arena.

This win firmly establishes Cisneros La Laguna among the league's top teams. It marks their first success of 2026, coming just before they play three consecutive home matches at the Ríos Tejera, starting this Saturday against Servigroup Playas de Benidorm, which features former Cisneros player Matías Guidolin.
