Cisneros Returns Home for Manacor Clash; Haris Debuts Kumanova
Tenerife's Cisneros La Laguna returns to their home court to host strong Conectabalear Manacor, while Tenerife Libby's La Laguna (Haris) plays away against fifth-placed Melilla, marking the debut of new signing Darina Kumanova.
Cisneros La Laguna is back at their usual home, Ríos Tejera, today. After temporarily moving to Quico Cabrera to play against CV Guaguas, the Tenerife team will host Conectabalear Manacor at 7:00 PM. Manacor is another strong team in the Men's Superliga.
This will be Cisneros's third home match in a row. They recently won 3-2 against Servigroup Playas de Benidorm but lost 1-3 to CV Guaguas in the Canary Islands derby. With these results, Cisneros is currently seventh in the league with 20 points. They are three points ahead of their closest challenger, UC3M Voleibol Leganés, and two points behind both Conqueridor Valencia (fifth) and Pames Teruel (sixth).
Meanwhile, Conectabalear Manacor sits in fourth place with 27 points. So far this season, the Balearic team has two wins and one loss, including a 3-1 victory over Bus Leader San Roque last Saturday.
After a week of training, coach Miguel Rivera emphasized that the team "approaches this match knowing the importance of the three points." He described their opponent as "a team with a very distinct playing system, where their middle blockers are very important in attack." Rivera also noted that Manacor is "very aggressive with their serves," meaning Cisneros's reception needs to maintain its strong performance from recent matches.
Haris Faces a Strong Opponent
Also today, Tenerife Libby's La Laguna, known as Haris, will play another away league match against Melilla. This fifteenth-round Liga Iberdrola game takes place at the Javier Imbroda Pavilion, starting at 4:00 PM. The match will also mark the debut of their new Hungarian signing, Darina Kumanova.
The La Laguna team is in their best form of the season, with two victories and six points, placing them outside the relegation zone. Melilla, currently in fifth place, has been one of the season's surprise teams. However, they have recently suffered two quick consecutive defeats against Heidelberg, first in their last league match and then in the Cup quarterfinals.
