The town of Charco del Pino is starting a large-scale renovation of its football field, costing 838,921 euros, which will include a modern lawn, an irrigation system, and preparations for a new grandstand.
The football field in the town of Charco del Pino will finally be renovated! The local authorities of Granadilla de Abona have announced a tender for the first stage of a major reconstruction. People have been waiting for this for a long time.
The total planned expenditure is 838,921 euros, and the work will take approximately 4 months. During this time, the field should be completely transformed.
What will be done in the first stage:
- A modern artificial turf will be laid.
- A new irrigation system will be installed.
- Fencing and nets will be installed.
- The foundation for a future grandstand with a roof will be prepared.
- Rainwater will be diverted into a ravine.
- Sewerage will be installed and foundations will be laid for new lights to save electricity.
And in the second stage, a running track will be built and the grandstand will be completely renovated.
The mayor of the town, José Domingo Regalado, says that this was made possible thanks to the hard work of the local authorities, who wanted to fulfill a long-standing request from residents.
Marcos Antonio Rodríguez, who is responsible for construction, added that they have already received permission from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). This was important because the federation owns the field, and nothing could be done without its permission.
By the way, it was not easy, because the field is located near a ravine, and the rainwater collection system had to be changed. There were also problems with the hydraulic infrastructure.
