Challenging Ravine Rescue in Puerto de la Cruz
Emergency services in Puerto de la Cruz, Canary Islands, rescued a 63-year-old man on Thursday, February 5, after he fell into the Martiánez ravine and was subsequently hospitalized.
The unique landscape of the Canary Islands, with its many deep ravines, often makes rescue operations challenging. This was evident during a recent incident in Puerto de la Cruz, which highlighted the importance of emergency services working together.
On Thursday, February 5, a 63-year-old man was rescued after falling into the Martiánez ravine from Guillermo Rahn street. The Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 reported the incident, which occurred around 11:00 AM.
A team, including Tenerife Firefighters, responded to the scene. Their work was essential in getting the man out of the steep terrain. Once he was safely out, paramedics from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) provided medical assistance. He was then taken to Hospiten Bellevue University Hospital for further care. The Local Police also assisted with the operation in the area.
