The Dúo Arena y Jable will perform an Ibero-American chamber music recital this Sunday at the Castillo de La Laguna as part of the Noon Canarias concert series.

The Noon Canarias concert series is bringing live music to historical sites across the islands, offering a fresh way to experience local heritage. This Sunday, the Castillo de La Laguna will host a chamber music performance at 12:00 p.m. that explores the musical ties between Spain and Latin America.

The recital, titled Aires de Iberoamérica, features the Dúo Arena y Jable, consisting of musicians Airam de Vera Ramos and Javier Mederos Pérez. The duo will showcase the versatility of the flute and guitar—two instruments that have long bridged the gap between classical music and traditional folk styles on both sides of the Atlantic.

The program is notably diverse. It includes Suite Habana by Cuban composer Eduardo Martín, which captures the rhythmic energy of the Caribbean, and Roberto Di Marino’s Sonata for Flute and Guitar, a piece that highlights the sophisticated interplay between the two instruments.

This event is part of the Noon Canarias initiative, which aims to promote contemporary music while highlighting the beauty of the islands' historic architecture. The performance by Dúo Arena y Jable serves as a perfect example of this mission, blending academic tradition with the folk influences that define Ibero-American culture.
