Spanish comedy star Carles Sans brings his farewell show, "¡Por fin me voy!", to the Canary Islands on March 11th in Tenerife and March 12th in Gran Canaria.

Spanish comedy star Carles Sans is heading to the Canary Islands next week with his show, "¡Por fin me voy!" (Finally I'm Leaving!). This tour is a big moment in his career, as Sans himself has announced it will be his farewell from the stage.

Audiences in the Canary Islands can catch the show on March 11th in Tenerife, at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna, starting at 8:00 PM. The next day, Thursday the 12th, he'll be in Gran Canaria, performing at Infecar in Las Palmas, also at 8:00 PM.

"¡Por fin me voy!" isn't a typical stand-up monologue. Instead, it's a one-man play where Sans shares personal stories, thoughts, and fantasies. His goal is to keep the audience laughing non-stop for the entire eighty minutes. Sans previously had great success with his last solo show, "¡Por fin solo!" (Finally Alone!), which drew 150,000 viewers. He hopes to top that with this new production. To do this, he uses everyday tales, quirks from his own life, and observations about small things, turning them into funny scenes that connect with the audience.

Sans explained that this farewell tour is a personal decision. He plans to take a break from performing, though he hasn't ruled out a return if there's enough public demand. For 45 years, his main goal has always been the same: to make people laugh and leave the theatre wanting more.

Born in Badalona in 1955, Carles Sans left his law studies to train at the Barcelona Theatre Institute and pursue a career in entertainment. In late 1979, he co-founded Tricicle with Joan Gràcia and Paco Mir. This trio became famous in Spain for their physical comedy, performing and directing about a dozen shows. After Tricicle broke up in 2020, Sans started a new chapter with "¡Por fin solo!". In this show, he used more spoken words than ever before, but still kept the expressive gestures he's known for.

In "¡Por fin me voy!", which he co-directed with José Corbacho, Sans explores all the things that come to mind when someone decides to retire from performing. For more details about the show, you can visit makaronproducciones.com.
