
Caprile, Sánchez Silva Lead Tenerife Carnival Queen Jury
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival Queen Gala on February 11th will crown its "Latin Rhythms" queen, featuring a high-profile judging panel including Lorenzo Caprile, Raquel Sánchez Silva, and Jaydy Michel, plus performances by Los 4 and Manny Manuel.
The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival is a major cultural event, and its upcoming gala to elect the Carnival Queen is a highlight. This year, the judging panel will feature highly respected experts. The selection of these judges emphasizes the carnival's ambition to boost its national and international profile, solidifying its status as one of Spain's most important celebrations.
The competition is set for Wednesday, February 11th, at 9:30 PM at the Exhibition Center. It will crown the Queen for this year's carnival, which is dedicated to "Latin Rhythms." Daniel Pages is the artistic director, and Alexis Hernández and Paula Vázquez will host the show.
The jury, tasked with choosing the 2026 Carnival Queen and her court of honor, includes several prominent figures from the worlds of design and communication. Among them are fashion designer Lorenzo Caprile, TV presenter Raquel Sánchez Silva (known for shows like 'Maestros de la Costura Celebrity'), and model and actress Jaydy Michel.
They will be joined by Sergio Macías, the set designer for this carnival edition; Puchi Méndez, a journalist from Radio Club Tenerife; and Mayer Trujillo, director of Radio Canaria. The panel will also feature Pedro Mengíbar, president of the Carnival Culture Classroom; Ian Comfort, CEO of the Notting Hill Carnival, bringing an international perspective; Miguel Ángel González Suárez, president of the Federation of Tourism Journalists in Spain; Beatriz Barrera, president of the Casino de Tenerife; and Nayarit Desirée Herrera Herrera, representing the public's vote.
While the judges make their decision, the audience at the event and those watching live on Radio Televisión Canaria and Radio Televisión Española can enjoy musical performances by Los 4 and Manny Manuel.
