Candelaria’s New Municipal Auditorium Set for 2027 Completion
Candelaria’s new 8.46 million euro municipal auditorium is on track for a summer 2027 completion, marking a significant milestone in Tenerife’s initiative to decentralize cultural infrastructure.
Candelaria’s urban transformation is nearing its final stage as work on the new municipal auditorium progresses. According to the local council, the project is on track for completion by the summer of 2027. Located near the Rambla de Los Menceyes and the Punta Larga commercial area, the facility is a key part of Tenerife’s plan to decentralize culture, providing a modern space for theater, concerts, and educational programs.
The project is being handled by Bilba Construcciones e Infraestructuras SLU. After finishing the demolition of the old bus station, site excavation, and foundation work, the team is now focused on the building's structure. Construction began in July 2025 and is scheduled to take two years. The total cost of 8.46 million euros is being shared, with the Cabildo de Tenerife covering 80% and the local council providing the remaining 20%.
Spanning 4,561 square meters, the building is designed for a variety of uses. It will feature a 500-seat auditorium equipped for large-scale productions, complete with a stage and backstage area. The facility will also include dressing rooms, rehearsal spaces, and an underground parking garage. Through this project, Candelaria aims to create a cultural hub that serves both its local residents and the wider island community.
