Candelaria's "Among Rices" Food Trail Runs Nov 5-Dec 8
Candelaria launches a month-long "Among Rices" food trail from November 5th to December 8th, inviting visitors to sample unique rice dishes from eight local restaurants and vote for their favourite.
Candelaria is once again putting delicious food at the forefront. From November 5th to December 8th, the town will host "Candelaria, Among Rices." This food trail invites rice lovers to visit eight restaurants and try special recipes made just for the event. All participating restaurants are part of Candelaria's Local Product Club, which guarantees quality, local ingredients, and unique dishes.
Mayor Mari Brito and Commerce Councillor María del Carmen Clemente met with the restaurants this Tuesday to sort out the final details. Mayor Brito said the initiative "continues to make Candelaria a top food destination." Councillor Clemente added that it "showcases the talent of local chefs and boosts the town's economy through its food scene."
The campaign features eight distinct rice dishes, one from each participating restaurant. Each preparation will be served with a glass of wine from El Rebusco Bodegas, highlighting the link between local food and drink.
Food lovers, take note: you can vote for the "Best Rice of Candelaria 2025." If you try at least two rice dishes, you can vote for your favourite by filling out an online form and uploading your receipts. All voters will be entered into a draw to win a €100 meal voucher for the restaurant that wins the public vote.
This event is part of the "Candelaria, Flavour and Tradition" project. It's funded by NextGenerationEU and aims to encourage creative cooking and the use of local ingredients. To ensure high quality and skill, the chefs also received special training on cooking rice from Chef Pablo Pastor.
